When I saw Wendy Gell post a Hello Kitty wristie on her Facebook page today — I knew she had to be the subject of my post. Wendy and I became friends in the 90s when she lived on Quonnipaug Lake in CT and was known to all as “The Lake Fairy.” There she created a magical, wooded, jewel-encrusted world where children and adults came to play during the joyous celebrations she hosted. Now, as west coast Wendy, she continues to delight audiences old and new with incredible sparkle, wit, humor, style and fantasy.
I could never do Wendy justice in one small post. She is an internationally known jewelry designer and artisan whose work has been showcased in countless fashion magazines and has been collected by cultural icons including Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor. I encourage you to visit her website and explore!
Wendy Gell is an artist and jewelry artisan with world wide clientele who specializes in handmade, one of a kind, designer jewelry, art and gifts. She is well known for her famous wristies and collectible Disney themed jewelry which are encrusted with jewels, rhinestones, brightly colored Swarovski Austrian crystals, small antique toys and objects, fabric, cherubs and religious artifacts, inlaid bits of Pop Culture or the playful icons of retro-Americana. Some start as oil paintings and become encrusted, as the Gelastic jewelry and art Gell into something brand new. Her pop art jewels have been worn by the famous & celebrated by collectors for over 20 years. Her artisan jewelry is truly art to wear! In addition to Wendy’s designer jewelry line, she also creates wonderful, whimsical gifts such as dolls, picture frames, hair accessories, pop art pillows, rhinestone purses, wine goblets, and so much more. More recently, Wendy has also become very skilled in painting and has created a line of animal pet portraits you won’t want to miss!
