Typography Today = Set to Fit

by kHyal on June 2, 2010

I’m often as thankful for bad design. It gives me a reason to laugh out loud. And laughter, as they say, is truly the best medicine. It’s also fun to share.

Here’s a nice example of DIY typography and spelling on a sign in New York. Too many words? Take out some letters or horizontally scale to fun house mirror magnificence.

Does this work? Not sure. I stopped to admire the work and take a photo, but it didn’t inspire great confidence in the food. But as my mama always told me: “It takes all kinds to make a world.”

It’s rather ironic that a Web page making fun of bad typography has text so small it’s barely legible. LOL

Mike,

Thanks for your comment. Would love if you could send a screen capture of what you see to us at kHyal@DesignerGrill.com. You are only the fourth person of thousands who have read our blog to say that the font looked small. We can’t replicate the problem on any Mac using any browser but have heard from three others that the type seems small. One of them was using an old AOL browser on an older PC. The other two were also PCs. We would be happy to fix this, and if we can send specifics to our technology provider we will.

Again, thanks for letting us know. Much appreciated!
