Superfine™ Letterpress Workshop | with Berwyn Hung of Praxium Press

by Karl on January 31, 2010

Before leaving Atlanta — we were treated to a most interesting morning — a one-on-one letterpress workshop with Berwyn Hung. We met Berwyn this week at Creative Circus where he is a professor. Our workshop was a blast. Learning about the press, type, and the collection of materials needed to produce letterpress projects.

We selected a variety wood and metal type including characters, numbers and dingbats. Our final creation — a mini poster on Mohawk® Superfine Ultrawhite 100lb. cover, a favorite stock of Berwyn’s. During our workshop we had the privilege of seeing Berwyn’s collection — hundreds of unusual letterpress samples from his studio and students including hand-made books and boxes he has created over the years.

Berwyn’s approach is unique — “Being creative fuels us. With years of experience in design and working with our hands, we collaborate with you to create a thoughtful, earth-friendly result. Our creative work history and joy of collaboration with clients makes our studio unique”.
