Pop Burger | Pop Art

by Karl on October 23, 2010

kHyal and I were cutting across to Madison after our tour at the Armory — International Fine Art & Antiques Dealer Show. We noticed a small narrow space with a cool door and delicious aroma drifting onto the street. Pop Burger — pop culture meets gourmet fast style food. We ordered sliders, onion rings, Heineken and a Limonata. For those not familiar with sliders — mini burgers, cute and in 2 or 3 bites they are gone. Our order arrived quickly and in 2 or 3 bites it was obviously one of the best burgers in the city.

The dining space — cool casual, large Andy Warhol Campbell soup posters adorned the wall behind protective plexiglass. Rustic flooring and bench seating fashioned from the same materials. Entrance — illuminated aluminum wall peppered with tempting typography. Upstairs — dining and bar environment. Cozy and simple, still keeping with that pop vibe — just more private. Interior graphics, identity — well thought out and fun.

Pop Burger — 2 locations — 14 East 58th and 58-60 9th Avenue/NYC.

Wow, I’ve never heard about this place! I love the plexiglass art on the walls. Pop Burger looks reasonably priced, too. I have to check it out sometime soon =)
