Glimmer is one of those *must have* books for designers. On Sunday, June 13 from 4 to 6 pm, The Aldrich Museum presents author and journalist Warren Berger, along with Connecticut designer Alexander Isley, for a discussion and book signing about Glimmer: How design can transform your life, and maybe even the world.
In his presentation at The Aldrich, Berger will share firsthand accounts of how world-famous designers like Bruce Mau, Dean Kamen, and Isley have tackled daunting problems in search of “the glimmer moment”—that shining moment when a designer first comes up with a fresh insight that eventually leads to innovation.
Berger will be joined in the presentation by Isley, who will share his own design expertise and insights while showing samples of his award-winning work. Together, Berger and Isley will discuss:
• How designers manage to look at problems and challenges with a fresh eye
• How they go about asking the kinds of questions that can reveal new possibilities
• How they train their minds to “think laterally” to come up with offbeat ideas
• How they visualize and build upon their ideas to turn them into realities
