Do You Stand Out in A Crowd?

by kHyal on June 4, 2010

Yesterday, I went to see Skin Fruit at the New Museum in its last days (it closes on June 6th). Curated by Jeff Koons, I expected to like it. I imagine it might be too intense for many people’s taste, but I have never been afraid of extremes. In fact, I embrace them. Remaining on the down-low to be like everyone else results in banality. I suppose, if you are beige, staying beige is true to yourself. However, if you have a different opinion, let it shine. Bold can beautiful — like Liza Lou’s Super Sister — made of cast resin and painstakingly covered in glass beads in true Lou style.
