I came across Beccy Risdel’s work in a copy of form magazine that I whisked off the show floor at the ICFF.
Risdel is a UK ceramicist with a wry sense of humor and excellent level of craftsmanship. I enjoyed her sketchbooks as much as her final pieces — and the fact that she is not a one trick pony. Her work veers from one intellectualism to the next on a whimsical — yet sometimes murky — path. She takes the everyday and twists it gently into a place your mind can wrap itself around.
You can see her work on her website, her behance portfolio, yatzer and beyond.
