Art Meats Fashion with Carnivorous Style

Okay, I’ll admit I have some strange obsessions. One of them is meat. Although I have been a vegetarian for most of my adult life I’ve always enjoyed meat as an art form. It started early on with collages of meat-related advertising from 60s magazines ["Food is Love"] and moved to original Polaroids of meat and cold cuts that I would photograph at the wee hours of the morning in the local Stop and Shop. Sometimes I’d blow up the Polaroids into big blurry prints and frame them, wishing they were wallpaper or curtains. I still can’t resist photographing a nice piece of meat — be it plastic or the real deal — when walking through urban neighborhoods past butcher shops and such.

Well, last November the Russian Goodman Steak House restaurant hosted a fashion show of meat inspired clothing and accessories made of raw meat. No, I wasn’t there but I was lucky enough to find the photos to share with you today!

The image above and many more reside at Adme.ru. Bon Appétit!

(I would have typed the photo credit out but my character set doesn’t allow me to form the name of the photographer.)
