I have always admired handmade things — and, am a maker of things myself. We all know Etsy has steam-rolled itself into a big money position with millions of investment dollars after showing strong potential and profitability.

However, my idea of beautiful handmade things is slightly skewed from what I often find in Etsy searches. For example, today — in honor of a holiday focused on giving thanks but that is most often represented by the icon of a bird, I searched the word turkey. My search revealed an extensive list of items  — some of which I have displayed above. (All images, of course, belong to their respective owners.)

Etsy = multi-million dollar business = crocheted turkeys, turkey feather earrings, felted roasted turkey ornaments, turkey costumes for cats/dogs/kids, turkey jerky.

Think about it.
